Okay -- here’s the newest upgrade in Wednesday Rants... My business computer has been running Windows XP Home Edition for years, and my business software likes it. The Windows operating system crashed this morning, and because of multiple other physical issues, I think it’s time to put the hardware out to pasture -- it’s not worth repairing because the fan died awhile back.
So – I can buy a whole new computer for under $300 – That’s good news, right? With a Vista operating system – oops, there’s the glitch. My business software won’t run on Vista without a disclaimer and my signed affidavit guaranteeing I won’t sue the software company for breaking my new system in the event something goes wrong. This feels like a VIAGRA ad...”You should seek medical attention if you go blind or if your erec.... lasts more than four hours.” Sheesh!
What to do – what to do ?
I totally agree with the Windows version issue. Wow!!!! 'If it ain't broke, don't fic it.' And since there's nothing wrong with XP why upgrade tp Vista??? Maybe there's a different business software you can consider?? Either way you're spending money. Technology advancement, ain't it great? FOR WHO???
