No Wednesday Rants - Positive Thought For The Day!

Yesterday went by without me posting a rant . . . not that there wasn't plenty to post about. After all, any time there's a new moon, negative vibes abound. Woo woo! On days like that it's best to brush the Rants away.

So let's move forward with a positive thought for today -- "There is no death in dying if you are remembered."

A friend of mine lost a dear friend, yesterday. I once found consolation in this poem, and although each person may interpret the message differently, I find it uplifting. I hope you do too.

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the scent on fragrant bloom;
The sunlight’s warmth at summer's noon.

Do not stand at my grave and sigh;
I am not there, I do not lie.

I am the light on ripened grain;
The gentle mist of autumn's rain.

When you wake in morn’s soft hush;
I am the swift uplifting rush...

Of quiet birds in circled flight;
I am the star that shines at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, … I did not die.

    Oh dear,
    Not even a teeny, tiny little rant! So unlike you .

    Now on a more serious note - I am really sorry to hear about the loss of the friend of your friend. I went through this with Millie a while back when a very close, dear friend of hers (No, it wasn't me!!!) passed away from a long bout with cancer. It is hard not to feel the pain that those you like so well are feeling.

    Your poem is just lovely. It is reminiscent of a beautiful poem read at the Queen Mother's service. Hope you won't mind my sharing it with you. Words have such a healing, comforting effect when used wisely. I wish I had the gift. Unfortunately, all I can do is share those words of others.

    You can shed tears that she is gone
    or you can smile because she has lived.
    You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back
    or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.

    Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
    or you can be full of the love you shared.
    You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
    or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

    You can remember her and only that she's gone
    or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
    You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
    or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

  2. Well I was watching a Town Hall Meeting and had plenty of ranting building within in me, so I tapped back the anger, shook off the rage and went back to creating my fantasy world where the people are beautiful, handsome, courageous and bold. They're also intelligent.
